Steve Ausbury  “Excerpts from Go to the Splat Factory” 
a different word is rendered as a drawing every day and each word together collectively forms a poem.  The poem is narrative-based, weaving together observations and experiences with domestic forms of the military in everyday life (including Bl;ackwater and their new training ground for LA police department in North County, CA(north of San Diego); media transcriptions of war-related events; and discussions with anti-war protesters. The splat factory is a paintball arena in upstate New York.

Steve Ausbury is an artist living in Brooklyn, NY. His work has spanned many genres of contemporary art including video, opera, bookmaking, dance, performance art and drawing. His current practice could be described as pattern poetry – an ancient discipline sitting at the intersection between writing and drawing.  New works will be exhibited at PS 122 this January 2008.
